01 / Our Story
Different paths.
A shared vision.
Our story is rooted in a genuine appreciation for design and the art of making things well.
Fred's journey into woodworking began the same year he graduated with a degree in Design in São Paulo, Brazil. Working alongside an experienced business partner, he developed the hands-on expertise that would shape his approach to joinery. His sister Ana also played an important role in the management and operations of the business.
Years later, Carolina brought her own creative and entrepreneurial background to the business. Also a graduate in Advertising in São Paulo, she had built her career as a retailer and artisan, cultivating a deep appreciation for materials, aesthetics, and the connection between people and the spaces they inhabit.
As their respective careers continued to flourish, they recognized an opportunity to bring their complementary strengths together around a shared vision.
In 2024, that vision marked the beginning of a new chapter: joining forces while establishing M Design Studio's operations in Orlando, Florida. International expansion was never an afterthought — it had been a central part of their plans from the very beginning.
Today, that same spirit of collaboration, creativity, and continuous growth remains at the heart of M Design Studio.

Custom isn't an option we offer. It's how we think.
To us, custom means much more than selecting a finish or adjusting dimensions.
Every project begins with a new set of ideas, possibilities, and challenges. We listen, explore, question, and develop solutions around the people who will use the space and the architecture that surrounds it.
We don't believe great design should be limited by a collection of standard models. We believe in the freedom to create thoughtfully, supported by the knowledge to make those ideas work.

Our design team helps translate each client's vision into a thoughtful concept. From there, design development, technical planning, fabrication, and installation come together to bring it to life.

Our work is shaped by both formal design education and years of practical experience — a combination that allows us to approach ambitious ideas with creativity, precision, and a deep understanding of how things are made.
For us, craftsmanship is not only visible in the finished piece. It is present in every decision behind it.
